Are you interested in having your research highlighted on Beyond the Defense?

The Beyond the Defense Podcast (BDP) crew invites proposals from higher education scholars for a collegial discussion of their recently successfully defended dissertation. Researchers should have defended or graduated within 12 months prior to their podcast interview. BDP seeks to include scholars from a wide variety of higher education institutions, states, and countries. Both EdD and PhD scholars are welcome to submit proposals to discuss their dissertations. All methodologies and theoretical frameworks are welcome.

We are excited to host you on the Podcast!

To help us learn more about you and your research we ask that you complete the interest form below!

Process

  • All interested individuals must submit an Online Interest Form in order to be considered for a BDP interview. In addition to the interest form, participants must include an official announcement that the defense was successful.

  • The BDP team will contact participants with a decision within 4 weeks of the submission date to discuss scheduling the interview and interview logistics (including a discussion outline).

  • The BDP team will coordinate the promotion of the episode on social media, which the scholar is encouraged to “like” and “share.”

Podcast Format & Topics

Podcast episodes last between 45 and 60 minutes (sometimes longer!). The interview will be conducted via Zoom with two interviewers and the scholar. BDP encourages submissions from a variety of higher education topics, included but not limited to:
